Police in the North are appealing for information on the theft of a statue from the Bishops Road area of Magilligan in Derry.

The statue of Manannan Mac Lir, which forms part of the Myths and Legends sculpture trail, was taken from Gortmore viewing point.

The PSNI received a report of the theft yesterday morning from Limavady Borough Council.

The life-size scultpure, by Tyrone native John Darren Sutton, overlooked Lough Foyle.
