Man charged with murder of mother
A man has appeared in court in Dublin, charged with the murder of his mother.
30-year-old Fionn Braidwood is accused of killing Jane Braidwood at Clarinda Park East in Dun Laoghaire on Tuesday.
He replied "no" when charged at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station at 6pm yesterday evening.
Fionn Braidwood was remanded in custody to Cloverhill District Court until next Thursday when a bail application will be made.
He was also granted free legal aid.
His solicitor, Ronnie Lynam, asked that a psychiatric assessment be carried out on his fitness to stand trial and on general medical grounds.
