Man charged with stabbing of woman in Dublin

A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman in South Dublin yesterday.

65-year-old widow, Jane Braidwood, was attacked at her home in Clarinda Park East in Dun Laoghaire shortly before 5pm yesterday evening.

She was taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s University Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The man was arrested at the scene and detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station.

He is due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court tomorrow morning.
