Woman stabbed to death at home in Dún Laoghaire
Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman following an incident in Dún Laoghaire this evening.
Gardaí were called to the scene of an incident in a house at Clarinda Park East at 5.20pm where a woman, aged in her sixties, had sustained an apparent stab wound.
She was taken by Ambulance to St. Vincent’s University Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
A male, aged in his thirties, was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Dún Laoghaire Garda Station.
It's understood the man was known to the victim.
The scene is preserved for a forensic and technical examination and the Office of State Pathologist has been notified.
Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
