Adults and children assaulted in armed robbery at Finglas home

Four adults and three children have been assaulted and tied up in a violent burglary at their home in Dublin.

Two men armed with a shotgun and a knife raided the house on Heathfield Way in Finglas around 10.30pm last night.

Gardaí said there were two men, two women - all in their 40s - and three children in the house - and they were threatened, assaulted and tied up.

The raiders left the house with a small sum of money and fled in a dark coloured car.

Two male victims from the house were taken to the Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, but their injuries were not life threatening.

The scene remains sealed off for a technical examination, and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
