A 41-year-old woman - charged with the murder of a father of three in Limerick - is to appear before Limerick District Court this morning.

A 41-year-old woman - charged with the murder of a father of three in Limerick - is to appear before Limerick District Court this morning.

Patrick Redmond - who was originally from Dublin - was found with stab wounds at an apartment in the Mount Kennett area of the city on 10 November 2013.

He died in hospital shortly afterwards.

Mary Lynch of Basement Apartment, Upper Cecil Street in the city appeared before Limerick District Court yesterday charged with the 65-year-old's murder.

The court heard she replied 'not guilty' when she was charged.

She was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody to appear before the court again this morning.
