Around 300 awaiting restoration of power after gales
The ESB says it has managed to return power to nearly 2,000 customers.
Gale force winds caused countrywide outages earlier today, but just 300 customers are waiting for their electricity to be switched back on this evening.
Engineers are continuing to work on the problem and the last remaining black spots - including Mallow in Cork, Swinford in Mayo and Greystones in Wicklow - should be on the grid in the next few hours.
