Kerry man's condition improves after car accident in Australia

A Kerry man who was involved in a serious road crash in Australia has been moved from the Intensive Care Unit.

55-year-old Gerard Brosnan from Port Road, Killarney was in Perth visiting his daughter with his wife when they were all involved in the incident.

Royal Perth Hospital say that Gerard Brosnan's condition has now improved to serious but stable and he has been moved from ICU to the Trauma Unit.

His wife, 52-year-old Marguerite and 28-year-old daughter Karen are both in serious but stable conditions.

The 56-year-old driver of the car the Brosnans were travelling in, died from injuries sustained in the crash, which took place on Sunday night.

A 20-year-old man who was driving the other car involved in the crash is due before a Perth court next month charged with drink-driving and dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.
