A dog has been rescued by the Howth Coast Guard Cliff Rescue team this afternoon.

The Coast Guard received a call reporting that a dog had become trapped after exploring on Balscadden Beach in North Dublin.

The rescue team used a ladder to retrieve the dog, and brought him back to the safety of the beach.

The dog was in good spirits and was returned to his owner.
