Cobh couple to be laid to rest side by side
The Cobh couple who died in a tragic murder/suicide last weekend will be laid to rest side by side, after separate funerals.
Michael Greaney and his wife Valerie died at their home at O'Neill's Place in Cobh on Sunday having suffered stab wounds.
It is understood that Michael Greaney stabbed his wife and 21-year old daughter Michelle before he took his own life.
The couples eldest daughter is recovering in hospital and is hoping to attend the funerals of both of her parents, along with her younger sister.
Valerie Greaney will be reposing at Cobh Hospital Mortuary this evening from 5pm until 8pm before her remains are taken to St Colman's Cathedral for funeral Mass tomorrow morning at 11.
Mrs Greaney will be buried afterwards in St Colman's Cemetery.
Former physiotherapist Michael Greaney will be reposing at Hawes Funeral Home in Charleville from 5.30pm until 8pm this evening before being taken to Cobh Hospital Mortuary where a rosary will take place tomorrow, with funeral Mass on Saturday.
He will be buried beside his wife in St Colman's cemetery, opposite their family home at O Neill Place.
