14 injured in Kerry road accident

At least 14 people are being treated for injuries following a road traffic collision near Kerry Airport.

Radio Kerry reports that gardaí have said there was a collision between a car and a minibus. The incident happened around two miles outside the village of Farranfore, on the Killarney side of the main N22 Killarney-Tralee road.

It is thought there are a number of serious but not life threatening injuries.

The Killarney-Farranfore stretch of the N22 has been closed and according to gardaí will remain shut for “some time”.

Diversions are in place and gardaí are advising motorists to avoid the area.
