Retired teacher goes on hunger strike in bid to save local post office

A retired schoolteacher from east Galway has gone on hunger strike in an attempt to save his local post office.

Seventy-four-year-old Michael J Kilgannon has formed the Post Office Users Association to campaign for retention of postal services in rural Ireland.
