In Meath, motorists are advised that part of the Enfield-to-Kinnegad Road remains closed this morning following a fatal crash last night.

Investigations are continuing after a 60 year-old pedestrian died following a collision in county Kildare yesterday.

It happened at Moyvalley at around 5.45pm.

The pedestrian - a 60 year-old man - was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the Mortuary in Naas, where a post mortem examination will take place this morning.

The driver of the car - a 29 year old woman - was uninjured.

Gardaí are currently carrying out a forensic examination and motorists are advised to take an alternative route.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station.
