McDonald stands by naming alleged tax evaders despite Harney complaint
Mary Lou McDonald has defended her decision to use Dáil privilege to name alleged tax evaders.
The Sinn Féin TD said she stood by her decision to use parliamentary privilege to claim that Mary Harney stopped an internal inquiry for political reasons.
Yesterday it emerged that the former Tánaiste had written to the Dáil's disciplinary committee to make a formal complaint, which will be heard next week.
But last night a Sinn Féin spokesperson said Deputy McDonald was standing by her decision, and had sought separate legal advice before making her claims.
