Sinn Fein Councillor 'receives death threat'

A Dublin Sinn Féin Councillor says he has received a death threat.

Jonathan Graham, 20, a member of South Dublin County Council, says he received the threat last Monday evening by way of an anonymous telephone call.

He says the caller told him he was a murderer and paedophile protector and told him not to attend Right2Water public meetings in his constituency.

"This behaviour is utterly reprehensible and I have reported the matter to An Garda Siochána," he said.

"I will not be deterred from my work on behalf of my constituents. I will be attending the Right2Water meeting this evening.

"Sinn Féin will not be halted in our determination and activism to pursue a programme of radical economic and social change by any amount of death threats."

Last weekend Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams confirmed he had received another threat against his life.
