Newlands Cross flyover to open

The Newlands Cross upgrade on the N7 will be officially opened by Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe later.

A flyover has been constructed at the junction between the Naas Road and the Fonthill and Belgard roads on the outskirts of Dublin.

It will provide a continuous free-flowing route between the M50 and the cities of Limerick, Cork, Kilkenny and Waterford, and also remove the last traffic light between Cork and Belfast.

The junction will open to traffic on Thursday.
