Man seriously injured in Bray shooting

A 39-year-old man has been seriously injured after a shooting incident in Bray, Co Wicklow.

It happened just after midnight last night, when a number of shots were fired through the window of a house in Heatherwood estate, hitting the man in the upper body.

He was taken St Vincent's hospital where his condition is described as serious.

A 41-year-old woman who was also in the house at the time was uninjured.

The house is sealed off for a technical examination and Gardaí are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in or around Heatherwood estate to contact them.
