Longford pet food company to create 70 jobs
A pet food company founded by the late Albert Reynolds is to create 70 jobs.
C&D Foods is to open a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford in a €15m investment.
The expansion adds to the plant which was built in 2007 following a major fire.
C&D will produce pet food pouches for many of Europe’s leading own label brands and will be the biggest of its kind in Europe.
The jobs will be created over the next three years.
Phillip Reynolds, chief executive of C&D Foods, said: “It is further evidence of the success and strength of our Edgeworthstown facility and its significance as part of our European manufacturing footprint.”
C&D Foods employs more than 1,000 people in six countries including Ireland, UK, The Netherlands, Spain, Austria and Denmark.
It is part of the Larry Goodman ABP Food Group, one of Europe’s largest food processing companies.
