Three arrested after alleged abduction and assault in Kildare

Gardaí have arrested three men following the alleged abduction of a man in his 20s in Athy, Co Kildare this afternoon.

The incident happened at St Johns Lane, Athy shortly after 12pm.

The man was assaulted by three men and forced into a blue Hyundi Santa Fe, which headed in the direction of Dublin.

Gardaí intercepted and stopped the car on the M9 motorway close to Ballytore, where the three men were arrested.
