Survey: Nearly half of Irish drivers avoid parallel parking

A survey for easytrip has found that 45% of Irish drivers say they would forgo a parking space if it involves parallel parking.

74% of us prefer reversing or driving forward into a perpendicular parking space over parking beside a kerb.

Up to 86% of drivers questioned in the survey for easytrip consider themselves good at parking, while 93% would like to see parallel parking assessed in the National Driving Test.

The survey of 500 motorists also found that 70% of drivers find cars taking up two parking spaces as the most annoying habit of other drivers.
