Toddler found dead in Dublin

Gardaí are investigating the death of a toddler in south county Dublin.

It is being reported that a woman in her 40s has been arrested at an apartment on Shanganagh Road, Shankill, Co. Dublin, after Gardaí were called there just before 2pm.

She is being detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station.

Gardaí discovered the body of the two-year-old boy, who was later pronounced dead by a doctor and the body remains at the scene.

The scene has been preserved and for an investigation by the State Pathologist.
