A woman and her three-yearold son are recovering in hospital this morning, after their car was struck by a hijacked vehicle in Dublin yesterday.

The driver of the stolen car is fighting for his life in hospital following the incident in Donabate.

A man hijacked a Honda Jazz car from a woman at Donabate golf club, then collided head-on with a Mazda demio on Hearse Rd.

The woman who was driving the Mazda suffered massive leg injuries, while her three-year- old son received facial cuts and chest bruising.

Their injuries are described as not life-threatening.

The driver of the stolen car received head and leg injuries and remains in a serious condition.
