Up to 250 jobs to be announced in Cork and Tipperary

A series of investments today is set to create jobs in Cork, Tipperary and around the country.

SolarWinds, which already employs 150 people in the Mahon area of Cork, is expected to announce up to 100 more jobs this morning.

The IT positions are coming on stream through the expansion of their European headquarters in the City Gate office campus.

Meanwhile, around 100 jobs are to be announced in Fethard, County Tipperary, at ribs and cooked meats providers Ribworld.

The announcements coincide with the launch of a $70m transatlantic investment fund, called 'Smart-Invest'.

It is hoped it will lead to the creation of another 450 jobs, by helping Irish companies expand into the US, and for American companies to set up bases here.
