Dublin Gardaí appeal for information on attempted shooting

Gardaí in Dublin are asking for the public to help link a burnt out car with an attempted shooting.

A black Volkswagen Golf was set alight at Old Court Cottages in Firhouse on Friday night.

Detectives think the incident may be connected to an attempted shooting at a nearby pub the same evening.

Two men were seen trying to set fire to the vehicle at around 7pm.

Shortly beforehand a man reported being threatened with a gun at a pub on the Old Court Road.

The men later tried to stop a number of cars along the Old Court Road before scaling a wall into the Old Court Manor Estate.

Gardaí would like to her from anyone who was in Old Court between 6pm and 8pm on Friday.
