A man has been refused bail for allegedly beating a taxi driver at Charleston Road in Ranelagh in Dublin in a dispute over a fare.

A man has been refused bail for allegedly beating a taxi driver at Charleston Road in Ranelagh in Dublin in a dispute over a fare.

The driver claims he was bitten, kicked and hit on the head with a glass bottle at twenty past five on Saturday morning.

Gary Crowley of Oakley Road, Ranelagh and Sarah Fitzgerald, a hotel waitress from Sycamore Lawn, Castleknock are both charged with assault causing harm.

Crowley has been remanded in custody until Wednesday, while his co-accused was granted bail today subject to certain strict conditions.
