Based on the complete tally figures, the son of the former Taoiseach Charles Haughey looks certain to take a seat in the Clontarf ward in the Dublin City Council election.

There are 12 former TDs who lost their seats in the 2011 General Election vying for seats on the local councils across the country today.

Former Fianna Fáil Deputy Sean Haughey says he has given no thought to making a return to Leinster House.
