Tánaiste expects Shatter to 'do the honourable thing'

Alan Shatter is expected to make a statement this afternoon regarding his €70,000 severance payment.

The Government had moved to ban the lump-sum payments, but the legislation was not formally in place by the time of Deputy Shatter’s resignation last month.
