Luas planning safety campaign

A luas safety campaign is planned for later this month.

It comes as the Red Line saw 34 collisions last year compared with only four on the Green Li8ne.

The Abbey Street and Jervis Street junction has been the location of 11 accidents involving cars and trams over the past decade.

The most recent was last week when a woman died after being hit by a car in collision with a tram.

Luas operator Transdev says the Red Line is riskier because its longer and passes through more junctions.
