A man is recovering in hospital after a "paramilitary style" shooting in Derry.

The man, in his 40s, was shot three times in the legs and once in his arm while he sat in the front room of a house at the Lisfannon Park in Foyle.

It happened shortly after 10.15 pm last night.

He is not believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

The PSNI are appealing for information.
