Mental Health service providers meet for symposium
Mental Health Service providers say there needs to be a minimum standard of care provided to patients.
Professionals from all over the country are meeting in Dublin this morning to discuss how to improve the system.
Stakeholders will have a chance to share their experiences of the system at a symposium being held at St. Patricks University Hospital.
"There has been an increase [in demand] in the last number of years, and that's primarily due to the economic downturn and the pressure associated with that," said Tom Maher, a director at St Patrick's.
"It's important, though, regardless of ho busy the circumstances are, to maintain a minimum standard."
