Luas service resumes after woman's body removed from scene of collision

Red Luas services have resumed following this morning's fatal accident in Dublin city centre.

A woman in her thirties was killed when she was hit by a car between Jervis Street and Abbey Street after the vehicle was struck by a Luas.

The incident happened just before 9am.

The State Pathologist's office was called and a preliminary exam was carried out before the woman's body was removed from the scene just before 11am.

Luas services have resumed but Jervis Street is still closed until further notice as Gardaí carrying out a technical exam of the area.
