Second level teachers will withdraw their co-operation for the planned new Junior Cycle programme from this morning.

Last month, the ASTI and TUI teachers unions - which represent around 27,000 secondary school teachers - voted for the action, over plans by the Education Minister Ruairi Quinn to replace the Junior Cert.
