Five arrested after Dublin protest

Five people were arrested for public order offences during a protest outside the Department of Justice in Dublin earlier.

Gardaí say the incident followed a protest which started from O'Connell Street and proceeded to the Department of Justice on St Stephen's Green.

The five were arrested for public order and related offences following the disturbance in which a garda received minor injuries and they were taken to Pearse Street station.

They were charged and subsequently released. They are due to appear in court later this month.
