Trinity to call itself 'the University of Dublin' in re-branding initiative

The board of Trinity College Dublin has provisionally approved a new name in a global rebranding initiative.

The board agreed to use Trinity College, the University of Dublin, in official communications.

The plan is to be put to staff before final approval.

It is believed that there is confusion internationally that the word "college" means Trinity is not a university.
