Gilligan shooting 'connected to feud with younger gangs'
It is believed the shooting over the weekend of John Gilligan may be connected to a feud with some younger criminals from his time spent in jail.
Gardaà in Dublin are on the look-out for a silver jeep which may be the key to finding the men who shot Gilligan.
The convicted drug dealer was shot a number of times at his brother's house on Greensfort Crescent in Clondalkin, after a family christening.
He is expected to survive the attempt on his life.
Gardaà are appealing for information as they search for two gunmen who fled in a silver SUV at around 7.30pm on Saturday evening.
The Sunday Times' John Mooney wrote the book "Gangster" about the crime lord and he says Gilligan was feuding with "younger gangs" before the shooting.
