Man held over Cork apartment fire

A man is to appear in court tomorrow morning charged in connection with an investigation into a suspicious fire in Co Cork.

At around 9pm yesterday evening emergency services were called to the scene of a fire at an apartment in Granary Court in Mallow.

The fire was quickly brought under control - residents had been evacuated for a short time but no one was injured.

A 41-year-old man was arrested in the Mallow area this afternoon in connection with the incident and is due before a sitting of Fermoy District Court tomorrow morning.
