South-East broadcaster Stephen Dee passes away aged 47

One of the South-East's best known broadcasters has died.

South East Radio's Stephen Dee passed away suddenly last night at the age of 47.

Stephen Dee, whose real name was Stephen Doherty, has worked in radio for over twenty years, beginning his career in the pirate era.

"He was a young man who just turned 47 last Friday. He was in great form and was his usual jovial self at work yesterday," said South East Radio's Managing Director Eamonn Buttle.

He has presented South East Radio's Breakfast Show since 2011 and was one of the first presenters on air when the station first began broadcasting in 1989.
