Union reps to meet Baxter Healthcare bosses over Mayo redundancies

SIPTU representatives will meet with management of Baxter Healthcare in Mayo tomorrow after the company announced it is to shed 110 jobs at its Castlebar plant.

The redundancies will be on a voluntary basis.

The firm said it plans to shift certain work currently done at the facility to other Baxter facilities in Europe.

SIPTU organiser Frank Jones says he thinks it will be very difficult to secure 110 voluntary redundancies.
