Talks aimed at averting pre-Christmas power cuts to take place

Talks aimed at averting a strike at ESB which could see pre-Christmas power cuts are taking place today.

Unions and management will discuss the €1.6bn hole in the company's pension fund.

The ESB Group of Unions last week said it will serve notice of industrial action tomorrow, which is due to expire on December 16.
