Solicitor Keane appears before disciplinary tribunal

Celebrity solicitor Gerald Keane has appeared before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal in relation to six counts of alleged professional misconduct.

Mr Keane, who is engaged to socialite Lisa Murphy, appeared before a sitting of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal yesterday in relation to the charges.

Christopher O’Neill, a former client of Mr Keane’s from Leitrim, alleges that the solicitor failed to act on a number of instructions concerning a dispute he had with a marine firm.

It is also alleged that Mr Keane knowingly misled Mr O’Neill on work he carried out on Mr O’Neill’s behalf and failed to provide a duty of care.

The case has been adjourned until a date which has yet to be fixed in 2014.
