650 jobs at Tara Mines saved under new deal

650 jobs at Tara Mines are to be retained, under a new deal.

The state has agreement a further ten year lease and extention of the lead and zinc mine with Boliden, the firm running the operation.

The mine, near Navan is the largest of its kind in Europe.
