The three Halawa sisters - who had been detained in Egypt for almost three months - have now been released.

The three Halawa sisters - who had been detained in Egypt for almost three months - have now been released.

A spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that Omaima, Somaia and Fatima were released from custody last night.

However their brother Ibrahim faces another court appearance later today.

The four were arrested for taking part in a protest at a Cairo mosque during unrest in Egypt in August.
