Plan for iPads for schools raises cost concerns

There are concerns that proposals to use tablets in the classroom may be more expensive than first thought.

Some schools here have suggested using iPads instead of books for their students.

However, parents are worried that cost of the tablet - as much as €600 - will be too much to pay.

E-books are charged at very highest rate of VAT, at 23%, because of an EU ruling.
