Search continues following discovery of human arm in Meath
Detectives investigating the discovery of a human arm in a wooded area are continuing their search for other body parts.
The grim discovery was made at The Mayne in Clonee, Co Meath, yesterday afternoon by a person out walking.
A detailed search of the area resumed early this morning with forensic examinations expected to take place throughout the day.
A Garda spokesman said: “The search is ongoing and will continue – weather and light permitting.”
Gardai from nearby Ashbourne began combing the area yesterday but were forced to call off the search when darkness fell.
Following detailed analysis, the body part was removed from the scene and taken to the morgue in Navan, Co Meath.
Gardai will be hoping that fingerprint or DNA evidence may be able to help them identify the remains.
Clues will be cross-referenced with details on the missing persons database.
