Second case of ash disease confirmed
A second hedgerow case of the Ash Die Back disease has been confirmed in Ireland.
The Department of Agriculture says it was in a tree within fifty metres of a farm where imported plants from eight years ago had developed the disease.
Earlier this month a hedgerow in County Leitrim became the first native discovery of the disease.
In a statement Junior Agriculture Minister Tom Hayes says there is now a major challenge in eradicating this disease.
