Pedestrian, 19, dies after being struck by car in Louth

A 19-year-old male pedestrian has died after he was struck by a car in Co. Louth yesterday evening.

The incident happened around five miles north of Drogheda at approximately 8.30pm yesterday evening.

The male driver of the vehicle - who was the sole occupant - was uninjured.

The man's body has been removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where a post mortem will take place.

Gardaí have carried out a technical examination the scene and the road has since reopened.
