Wicklow County Council is due to be sentenced today for criminal health and safety violations relating to the death of two fire fighters.

Father of 15, Brian Murray and 26-year-old Mark O’Shaughnessy lost their lives fighting a blaze inside a disused ink factory at Adelaide Villas on September 26, 2007.

In June, Wicklow County Council pleaded guilty mid-trial to three health and safety violations.

The maximum fine Judge Des Hogan can impose is €3m.
