Cork woman handed another life sentence for Bridge House murder

A woman in jail for murder has today received another life sentence for killing John Forrester, whose body was found trussed up with cable ties in the River Bandon two years ago.

Catherine O’Connor, originally from Kinsale, Co Cork, pleaded guilty to murdering the father-of-four from Blackpool, England, at Bridge House in Bandon, Co Cork on November 12, 2011.

The 37-year-old is already serving a life sentence for the murder of 27-year-old father-of-one, Jonathan Duke at the same location.

Sheena Taylor, the common-law wife of John Forrester's late father, said: "Well I think it's brilliant, she's got life again - but it doesn't make anything right, it doesn't being my husband back.

"I don't really know how I feel. I feel a bit sick".

"I guess it's going to help, in time it's going to help I'm sure - but right now I just feel a bit numb, really."
