Elaine O'Hara's remains were found in the Dublin mountains last month. She had been missing for over a year.

It is understood text messages on a mobile phone found dumped in a reservoir in Co. Wicklow last month led Gardaí to arrest the businessman.

Officers searched his home yesterday and two cars, computers, phones and other material have now been removed for detailed forensic examinations.

The suspect's period of detention will expire at around lunchtime today, meaning he must be either released or charged.
