Government to introduce new legislation to discourage youths smoking

The government is set to introduce new legislation and initiatives this morning to discourage young people from starting to smoke.
The Minister for Health Dr. James Reilly will launch the 'Tobacco Free Ireland' document which will include up to 60 recommendations.
It is hoped the scheme will lead to an overall generation of young people who do not smoke by 2025.
"I think that any inititaives or any measures that could possibly bring about that change that would be very welcome by us or anyone who is seriously interested in public health," said Dr. Ross Morgan from ASH Ireland.
